Last weekend Rick Gilbert and I were in Orlando for Cochlear Americas’ recipient event called “Cochlear Celebration.” We set up a table in the Expo to answer questions about using Dry & Store, and we gave away a couple hundred Dry-Briks. Our voices were worn out after a solid three hours of meeting recipients, but boy oh boy, was it worth it!
Some highlights:
Watching kids decorate their processors. Lots of creativity, pride, and joyful camaraderie. What a fabulous combination!
Meeting Anna Tess, a freshman at Illinois State, intending to become a deaf education teacher. You can just tell when you meet her that she has a lot on the ball! Meeting such bright, energetic, and personable young folks like Anna, I know that the future is bright!
Seeing so many of the staff at Cochlear Corporation but no time for chatting because they were going a mile a minute to keep the Celebration on track, and well… celebratory! They really did a great job.
I’ve posted a few photos on our facebook page, (http://www.facebook.com/dryandstore) Do you have any Dry & Store stories or questions to share? Maybe we can keep the celebration going!
